 |  Where do I start? At the beginning, presumably. When going to see Clerks II a few weeks back I had the brilliant state of mind to arrive early so that we could throw a few back. All turned out fucking brilliant with me and the Don getting fucking plastered and stumbling in. Turns out funny movies are about a dozen times funnier when you're lit! Fast forward to the present and our latest entry into this little opinionated mission of mine. Beerfest! From those poor saps who brought us SuperTroopers... and The Dukes of Hazzard. Come to think of it, if you add Club Dredd into the mix we start to notice a trend of less and less funny crapola. So how does Beerfest size up to those other flicks, you might be asking. Well to be perfectly honest.... I'm not quite sure. See, here's the thing: The Don had the great idea to pull a ghetto move and drink in the parking lot before a movie all about drinkin'. So Jorge and I are both on board for this little venture into drunkenhood. We pull it off to a "T" sporting a pint of Jack a couple of Hansens and some of those Jack cooler things. I mixed, Son pounded, Jorge kept it light, and when it was time we went in a grabbed a beer on the inside. Needless to say, I was pretty fucked up (Oh yeah, it sure as hell didin't help that I thre my back out earlier that day and was hopped up on painkillers) Now back to the movie: it was funny. There were more than a few parts that I realized would have been less funny had I not been so fucking bombed, but overall I had a great time. Was it Super Troopers? No, but it certainly wasn't as bad Club Dredd. Check the movie out, you might like it, though I know for certain it'll be better suited as a drinking game movie than anything else. 6 to 8/10 (Score Unreliable due to Inebriation) Side Rec: Super Troopers bitch! |
