Okay, this is either a telling part of my true nature or hopelessly lame: Tonight for some odd reason has become my romantic comedy night. 100 Women, which is actually quite a nice little flick, is on the menu. It's simple enough and basically goes into the story of a guy who has no clue about women in general (Oh and Clint Howard is in it too). So why do I like it? Cause I have no clue about chicks either. I'm lame in that sense. I guess it all started with my catching of the last 30 minutes or so of A Lot like Love last night. I mostly stayed tuned in because a yet unnamed friend of mine owns it. Sadly, it was actually a good flick. Ashton Kutcher.... Jesus, I just admitted that an Ashton Kutcher movie was good!! What will my beloved readers think?! How can I ever face them again? Life Lessons to Be Acquired from Today's Little Matinee: 1.) Artists are cool. So is sincerity. Women like sincerity. 2.) Nice guys are life's underused commodity. They usually never get appreciated until way too late, and it's usually only after some kind of tragic swimming for distance accident that they finally get their deserved recognition. 3.) Movies are way better than reality. People are way more interesting. They have better conversations. -And though they may be pent up sometimes, they eventually get over whatever they're hung up on in a timely manner. 4.) Fixating on how easily things work out on film is a very unhealthy thing to do. Life is a hundred times more complicated and seldom has happy endings. 5.) Goddamn I need a fucking woman. Goddamn goddamn goddamn it!! 6.) Love can be unfair. It can hurt. It can be a torturous little imp taunting you sometimes. It can be misguided, misdirected, misunderstood, and mistaken. It can be all of these things and you'd still hunt it with your last dieing breath just for one taste of its supple lips. We're sick like that, or at least I am. I hate fucking hopeless romantic movie night. |
